Build a trackable link without breaking the URL.

Add campaign parameters to a real landing-page URL. Existing query parameters and the #fragment are preserved.

UTM tags help analytics attribute incoming campaign traffic when properly configured. Don’t add them to internal navigation links; they can overwrite the original acquisition source. No links are saved or sent to RezSat Tools.

How to use this tool

  1. Paste the complete destination page URL, including https://.
  2. Enter campaign source, medium and name. Use optional term and content for more detail.
  3. Build your tagged URL, check the result and copy the link into your email or campaign.

Good to know

UTM tags record campaign attribution when your analytics platform is configured. Use them on incoming campaign links, not on internal site navigation. Existing query parameters are preserved.

This utility processes its content locally in your browser. No usage counter is required while public tools are free and unlimited. As with any online tool, avoid entering sensitive information on devices you do not trust.

What do source, medium and campaign mean?

The three core fields answer different questions. Source names where a visitor came from, such as newsletter or instagram. Medium describes the type of channel, such as email, social or cpc. Campaign names the actual promotion, such as summer_launch.

A tagged link can look like example.com/shop?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=summer_launch. Google Analytics can interpret those parameters if the destination website has its analytics configured correctly.

Keep naming consistent or the reports get messy

Pick one naming convention before sharing links. If your reports use instagram on one post, Instagram on another and insta on a third, you may have divided one campaign's traffic into separate labels. Lowercase words with separators are easier to keep consistent.

Use utm_content when several creatives point to the same landing page. It is useful for distinguishing an email's hero button from a text link, or one social creative from another. Use utm_term when you genuinely need a keyword-related label.

Protect the URL you already have

A correctly built campaign URL should preserve existing parameters, such as a page's product ID, and its #fragment. The tool uses the browser URL API to add or replace UTM parameters rather than just appending question marks and ampersands blindly.

Only add UTM tags to links that bring traffic into your site from another location. Tagging ordinary links between pages on your own site can incorrectly reassign the visit's acquisition source.

Questions about utm campaign url builder

Are UTM links only for paid ads?

No. They are also useful for emails, social posts, QR campaigns and other external links, provided your analytics setup supports those parameters.

Will this builder erase existing URL parameters?

No. Existing parameters are preserved; matching UTM keys are updated. A fragment such as #offers is also retained.

Does adding UTM tags automatically track visitors?

No. Your destination website needs compatible analytics collection and reporting. The URL builder only assembles the link.
